Between Reflections
A reminder to reflect within, and see the value hidden deep inside that others often miss.
More than a mirror, Between Reflections functions as a presence on the wall, drawing the eye not only to what is reflected, but to the space within. Framed by texture, geometry, and abstraction, the reflective surface creates a moment of stillness, inviting the viewer to pause and linger rather than pass by.
Formed from materials that were once overlooked and discarded, the work holds a quiet reminder: that value is not always immediately visible, and beauty often emerges from what appears broken or incomplete. The work reflects this idea back gently, encouraging a turning inward, to notice within ourselves what may have been missed, set aside, or underestimated.
It becomes part of everyday life, catching light, holding shadows, and shifting with the people who move past it. But at all times reminding us to reflect within, recognise our true worth, and remember that even when fragmented or broken, we carry the ability to rebuild and emerge anew.

Between Reflections was created as a wall-mounted mirror art, conceived as both functional and sculptural. The piece is built on a plywood base, surfaced with mirror mosaic work set in POP, and finished with layers of abstract acrylic painting. Its vertical form and structured geometry allow it to function as a reflective surface while asserting itself as an independent object within a space.
A defining aspect of this work is its material origin. The mirror fragments were sourced from discards at a glass and mirror store, while the plywood base came from leftover construction material. What was considered unusable or excess was intentionally reclaimed and reassembled, chosen not despite its imperfections, but because of them. The process focused on composition and balance, allowing the fragments to come together as a cohesive whole without disguising their origins. Cracks were deliberately introduced as a reminder of a broken past and to highlight the character they bring to today’s beauty.
The making of Between Reflections treats reuse as a creative starting point rather than an afterthought. It explores how form, value, and meaning can be redefined through attention and care. The result is an artwork that carries its past visibly, while standing firmly in the present. Ready to be lived with, reflected in, and experienced over time.
