A lifetime of memories… her presence held still.
This table came into the house with his mother, as part of her trousseau. It witnessed her morning prayers and his afternoons of play… a life lived around it. Years later, when it was found among firewood in the family’s village home, battered and forgotten, he recognised it instantly. It carried his deepest memory of her. Letting it go was not an option.
Time had not been kind. The wood was fragile, the surface worn beyond use. The table was carefully refurbished, not to erase its age but to return its dignity. Every repair respected what remained — the grain, the proportions, the quiet strength of something made to last. What emerged was not a new piece, but the same table, brought gently back to life.
Once restored, it returned to the centre of the home, and soon, to the family prayers. This table does not just occupy space; it holds time, memory, and a presence that has never really left.

Every work is completed slowly, by hand. Variations across artworks are intentional. No two pieces are ever identical. The process honours your sensibilities and needs (both functional and emotional) while giving it a contemporary form meant to be lived with, not replaced.
Prayers & Play is a restored table that once arrived as part of a mother’s trousseau. In its earliest years, it was used for all poojas and the unremarked moments of childhood. Prayers offered above, play unfolding around it. Over time, the table became inseparable from the rhythm of the home, carrying memory not as nostalgia, but as presence.
Decades later, it was found in a village home, reduced to firewood, its surface worn and structure weakened. Recognised instantly, it was brought back not as an object to be replaced, but as one to be returned. The restoration was guided by restraint, reserving its age, its marks, and the proportions that made it familiar, rather than attempting to erase time.
Today, Prayers & Play exists as a personal heirloom. Once placed back at the centre of the house, it quietly drew others toward it: borrowed for prayers, returned again. Eventually, it was moved aside, not because it had lost relevance, but because it held too much. This work is not about revival alone, but about what remains: Memory made tangible, and a presence held still.
The restoration involved cleaning up and basic sanding of the surfaces, 2 base coats with enamel following by artwork using acrylic paints, golden paint for the decorative elements and finally 3 topcoats with varnish to protect the artwork and bring out the glow.

For made-to-order works (without customization), we will connect with you within 1-2 working days for a dialogue and plan alignment. Once agreed, a 50% payment confirms the order and initiates the creation process. We share images or videos as the work progresses, followed by final visuals before dispatch. The final work is shipped after receipt of the remaining 50% payment.
If customization is requested, we will first connect to understand your requirements and post initial dialogue, we jointly arrive at a plan and price. Once the plan and amount are agreed upon, a 50% payment confirms the order and begins the creation. You will receive updates during the process, with final images or a video walkthrough shared before dispatch. The final work is shipped upon balance receipt.
Each Ikyaad artwork is created with care and intention, and you are kept closely involved throughout the process to ensure the final work aligns with your sensibilities. For this reason, refund or returns is not an option post order confirmation.
All artworks are packed with protection best suited for the work and accompanied by an authenticity certificate.
Ready to Ship artworks are usually dispatched with 1-2 working days.
For Made to Order and Custom Artworks, dispatch is planned and agreed post order confirmation.
Domestic delivery within India is complimentary. International orders can be delivered to domestic addresses or shipped on a paid basis.
