Preserved: Wedding Flowers | Varmala

Preserving wedding varmala and other meaningful flowers as quiet keepsakes of life’s most important moments.

Some moments in life are super special: weddings, rituals, farewells, celebrations and special temple + other visits we wish could last longer. Our varmala and flower preservation commissions transform flowers from such special moments into lasting keepsakes, carefully preserved to hold memory, emotion, and time.

From wedding varmalas to flowers from anniversaries, memorials, or personal milestones, each piece is created slowly and thoughtfully. The form is chosen to honour the story behind the flowers. Not just how they look, but what they carry. Each is completely unique.

Designed to live quietly in your home, these preserved flowers become more than décor. They become reminders of love, passage, and moments that once bloomed and continue to stay. A perfect gift for self or dear ones.

Ikyaad creates art that is meant to stay with you for years and not just seasons. Art that holds attention and starts conversations.

Every work is completed slowly, by hand. Variations across artworks are intentional. No two pieces are ever identical. The process honours the state and type of flowers and your sensibilities while giving it a contemporary form meant to be lived with, not replaced.

For varmala preservation, please plan a 21–30 day timeline as the flower drying process itself can take 2–3 weeks. Several compositions are attempted thereafter before shortlisting 1–2 compositions that we believe will suit your needs. Once agreed with you, we go ahead with the final execution.

Here’s a look at some of our featured works:

wedding flower | varmala preservation

This work was commissioned by the bride’s sister for an international wedding. By the time the varmala reached us, many flowers had already dried, and only a few could be saved. We chose to preserve what remained. Paired with pearls from the original varmala and set against a soft off-white base, the preserved blooms found quiet balance under resin. What emerged is a keepsake shaped by time and travel, made to last a lifetime.

This varmala reached us while the flowers were still fresh and delicate. Given their tiny scale and tendency to darken as they dried, we chose a fabric background to help them stand out and add quiet character. The pearls, larger in contrast, were preserved as a separate artwork. Together, the pieces allow the flowers and pearls to breathe in their own space, with the final artwork suited for both table and wall display.

The flowers for this artwork came from a cherished temple visit and reached us fresh and intact. After a slow, two-week drying process to retain their shape and colour, most blooms held beautifully, with traces of their original hues remaining. To bring these colours forward, we chose a deep black background. Preserved under layered resin, the final piece feels vivid and alive, holding both the sanctity of the moment and the care taken to honour it.

If a work resonates with you and you would like to own or gift it, begin a conversation or submit an enquiry. You may also share any customization preferences at this stage, if relevant.

For ready-to-ship works, we will share a payment link once availability is confirmed.  The artwork will be dispatched within 1–2 working days of order confirmation (full payment). If you’d like to take a closer look before confirming, you may request a video walkthrough of the piece.

For made-to-order works (without customization), we will connect with you within 1-2 working days for a dialogue and plan alignment. Once agreed, a 50% payment confirms the order and initiates the creation process. We share images or videos as the work progresses, followed by final visuals before dispatch. The final work is shipped after receipt of the remaining 50% payment.

If customization is requested, we will first connect to understand your requirements and post initial dialogue, we jointly arrive at a plan and price. Once the plan and amount are agreed upon, a 50% payment confirms the order and begins the creation. You will receive updates during the process, with final images or a video walkthrough shared before dispatch. The final work is shipped upon balance receipt.

Each Ikyaad artwork is created with care and intention, and you are kept closely involved throughout the process to ensure the final work aligns with your sensibilities. For this reason, refund or returns is not an option post order confirmation.

All artworks are packed with protection best suited for the work and accompanied by an authenticity certificate.

Ready to Ship artworks are usually dispatched with 1-2 working days.

For Made to Order and Custom Artworks, dispatch is planned and agreed post order confirmation.

Domestic delivery within India is complimentary. International orders can be delivered to domestic addresses or shipped on a paid basis.
