A dear friend once spoke to me about the importance of having people in our lives with whom we can share our emotional weight. She reminded me that no single relationship, not even a loving life partner, can carry the full burden of our inner world. We need a few close souls who can hold pieces of it with us.
This painting is about friendship..friends whose presence completes you, and with whom you can share the heaviness of your heart. The ones with whom you don’t have to put up a strong face but can show the real you, sometimes tired, sometimes hopeful.

The background in this painting is picked from a hotel that my friend and I stayed at during a recent trip to Uzbekistan. It was an old madrasa converted into a hotel and the brick walls themselves had so many stories to tell. We got pictures clicked in sarees all over and while the faces in this painting are different, the emotion picks from what I felt during this trip with my friend whose shoulder I have leaned upon since I was a teenager.

You will receive updates during the process, with final images or a video walkthrough shared before dispatch. The final work is shipped upon balance receipt.
Each Ikyaad artwork is created with care and intention, and you are kept closely involved throughout the process to ensure the final work aligns with your sensibilities. For this reason, refund or returns is not an option post order confirmation.
